Goodyear has a long history of providing innovative, quality products for the development of our country. In 1939 Goodyear tires were used on Admiral Richard Byrd’s Snow Cruiser for Antarctic expedition. In 1970 they supplied the first tires on the moon; through the Apollo 14 mission. In 2001 the U.S Postal Service selected Goodyear to be their exclusive ground tire supplier for 10 years. In 2007 government funding facilitated a Goodyear-NASA partnership, resulting in Goodyear developing tires for NASA’s Mars exploration. The list of Goodyear’s remarkable achievements and inventions goes on and on.
Goodyear exhibits strong social responsibility. Having a wide global footprint, they are named as one of the Greenest Big Companies in America by Newsweek magazine in 2009. Along with this global presence comes global recognition. Goodyear has been involved with auto racing for over 100 years, and Aerial Ambassadors since 1925, flying three blimps in North America.
